SharePoint · Microsoft Purview · AI governance

Governed information.
Practical AI.

We sort out where your documents live, how long you keep them and who can see them. Then Copilot and other AI tools work from information you can stand behind.

Services

Get the house in order before you let AI in

AI answers from whatever it can reach. If your files are duplicated, unlabelled and open to everyone, so are its answers. Our work starts there.

Records & information governance

Classification schemes, retention and disposal, and the rules that keep them working after we leave.

  • Business classification and file plans
  • Disposal codes mapped to retention authorities
  • Records audits against your disposal schedule

SharePoint architecture & migration

Information architecture people can find their way around, and a clean move out of file shares.

  • Hub-and-spoke site design, content types, document sets
  • Metadata-driven libraries with folder-like views
  • File-share permissions mapped to SharePoint groups

Microsoft Purview

Sensitivity and retention labels, data loss prevention and environment hardening, sized to your licences.

  • Label taxonomies, including PSPF and ISM alignment
  • Licensing advice for mixed and not-for-profit estates
  • Data hardening of the Microsoft 365 tenant

AI readiness & adoption

Copilot and Claude set up to work from governed content, with pilots that prove the value first.

  • Oversharing review before Copilot goes live
  • AI-assisted metadata and classification
  • Practical pilots for email and knowledge work
Ongoing

Purview rule tuning

Policies drift as your business changes. We monitor your Purview rules, tune them so they keep catching what matters without flooding people with false alarms, and report back on a regular cycle.

Our software

Migration we built ourselves

Imirce is our own SharePoint migration tool. We use it on our engagements, so your records arrive with their metadata, history and permissions intact.

imırce

Other tools move files. Imirce brings them home.

Imirce moves content from file shares and other sources into SharePoint Online. Every file is surveyed before it moves and verified after it lands, so your records manager gets proof, not a progress bar.

Three steps home.

SurveyInventory, duplicates, long paths and broken permissions found before anything moves. Disposal class suggested per file.
MoveMetadata, versions and permissions mapped as each file moves, in batches you can schedule around the working week.
VerifyA chain-of-custody report for the records manager to sign off. Every file accounted for.

The name

Irish for migration

Imirce is the Irish (Gaeilge) word for migration: moving from one place to settle in another. It was named by Robert McGrath, the Irish developer who built it, which is exactly what the tool does with your records.

How to say it

Stress on the first syllable. The Irish c is always hard, like a k.

im-EERSimmerseimerce

The mark

Three i's, rising

The logo is the method. Each i is a stage the data has already passed through: Survey, Move, Verify. The last one lands with a green dot. The file is home and governed.

The promise

Classified, intact, signed off

  • ClassifiedEvery file has a disposal class before it moves.
  • IntactMetadata, versions and history arrive with it.
  • Signed offYour records manager approves the result, not us.

Approach

How an engagement runs

Every project gets a weekly status report, a risk and issue register and a document register. You always know where things stand.

  1. SurveyWhat you hold, where it lives, who can see it and what your retention obligations are.
  2. DesignSites, libraries, content types, labels and a security model you sign off before we build.
  3. MoveMigration in planned batches with Imirce, piloted first on a real business area.
  4. GovernPurview labels and policies switched on, as-built documentation handed over.
  5. TuneWe watch how the rules behave in practice and adjust them so they stay useful.

Recent work

Where we have done this

A selection of current and recent engagements across government, construction and the not-for-profit sector.

Local government

A records vault staff can actually navigate

A regional council's records sat in deep category folders that were hard to browse. We piloted flat, metadata-driven libraries with views that look like folders, and a new way to assign disposal codes without document sets.

Construction

Business management system out of the file share

For a construction firm of about 200 people we designed a hub-and-spoke SharePoint estate with construction content types, mapped file-share permissions to SharePoint groups, and are migrating it under weekly governance reporting.

International aid, not-for-profit

Purview across a mixed licence estate

An aid organisation bought Microsoft Purview for its staff while running volunteers, overseas partners and service accounts on other licences. We are rolling it out without disrupting the partner-facing systems they depend on.

Government-connected

Labels that match the security framework

For a client with government connectivity we designed Purview sensitivity labels aligned to the Australian Government's PSPF and ISM, alongside a records audit of HR material against its disposal standard.

About

Two partners, both hands-on

You deal directly with the people doing the work. One of us designs how your information should be governed; the other builds the software that moves it.
